Clean Air Options, LLC

Clean Air Options (CAO) was founded in 2002 by current President and Managing Member, Frank Barnes, as a vehicle to commercialize a then embryonic technology now known as Disposable Electrostatic Precipitation, or DEP Technology. In the ten years preceding the formation of CAO, Mr. Barnes was actively engaged in a project designed to eliminate environmental tobacco smoke from within areas that were shared by smokers and non-smokers alike. It was during those years when Mr. Barnes was interacting with Indoor Air Scientists; Consumer Rights Activists; the heads of air filtration manufacturing companies; and the leaders of governmental agencies at the local, state and federal levels, that he gained a global view of the myriad of problems associated with Indoor Air Pollution, together with new insights on how to solve those problems.

In 2002, Mr. Barnes became aware of a Swedish inventor by the name of Andrzej Loreth. Mr. Barnes visited Mr. Loreth, became intrigued with his DEP Technology concept and they soon formed an alliance that has since grown into a successful business relationship. Mr. Loreth, via his company AD Air Design, AB, continues to develop the DEP Technology, while CAO has assumed the responsibility for developing marketing, sales and distribution licensing agreements throughout North America and beyond.

Andrzej Loreth & AD Air Design AB:

AD Air Design is the corporate entity under which Mr. Loreth continues his work as a leading inventor, builder, tester and producer of products containing the DEP Technology. Over the past 30+ years, Mr. Loreth's efforts have resulted in the creation of a patent portfolio of approximately 70 patents, the strongest in the air purification industry. Through his efforts and those of his selling partner, Mr. Jorgen Lindstrom, AD Air Design has worked with companies throughout Scandinavia to solve air purification problems in unique and diversified applications - including schools, bakeries, and within subway systems. Each of these challenges were met by incorporating DEP into products as varied as small table-top units; mid-sized, units suspended from the ceiling; as well as "Smoking Booths", into which a smoker can go to enjoy a cigarette without emitting second-hand smoke into the surrounding environment.

One of the most exciting new DEP related products, (to be introduced recently) is a commercial unit, suspended from the ceiling, which has an incorporated "Self-Cleaning" system. This revolutionary approach to commercial air purification will, in our view, become an industry standard in the near future.

The collaboration between CAO and AD Air Design has already produced significant licensing agreements with global companies such as Humancale; and other licensing contracts are in various stages of discussion.

Several years ago, Humanscale recognized the need to provide cleaner air to workplace occupants, so they began to search for a technology that would fit within their corporate culture.After much research, a licensing agreement was reached among Humanscale, AD Air Design and Clean Air Options, under which Humanscale would obtain the exclusive rights to manufacture and sell certain products containing the DEP Technology, within certain geographic environments, throughout North America and many other countries throughout the world. This collaborative effort has resulted in the introduction of "humanair^™", a state-of-the-art, Personal Air Purifier, containing DEP. It is anticipated that the Humanscale DEP Technology family of products will grow to include Room Air Purifiers with features and benefits that will make it ideally suited for residential use as well as in Healthcare environments and Hospitality applications.
